The author of “Until” is back with “Always” about Henry Louis Davis II who is waiting for the results of a lifetime—to find out if he will be elected the first African American president of the United States.

As the results from across the country roll in, the author takes a look back into Davis’ life, and the women he loves.

Since he was a child, Davis has wanted to be president and he has taken the necessary steps to get to his goal. It seems he has made all the right steps, but what about those around him?

Mr. McCann takes the readers on a journey from Davis’ childhood days when he was with his childhood sweetheart, Cheryl, to that night when history could be made.

Mr. McCann creatively develops each character-- his brother, his wife, and yes, his childhood sweetheart and her man--helping the reader to understand their relationship to Davis.

“Always” is a good, quick read, leaving you hanging on until the very end before you find out who will lead the country, who will stay together and who will die.
