For those mothers everywhere, who question themselves daily, here’s a book that screams, “You’re not alone!”

A veteran journalist and former co-anchor of The Early Show, Rene Syler shares life with the Parhams—husband Buff, daughter Casey and son, Cole.

Talk about a busy life, Ms. Syler had a very demanding schedule before moving from an anchoring job in Dallas to a national network in New York. In Good-Enough Mother, she discusses being away from the family and how important quality time is over quantity time.

Being a good mother be-came increasingly challenging as she commuted back and forth until her family finally settled down in her ideal home with the picket fence.

As if the situation wasn’t demanding enough, hubby also had a very time-consuming job as a media executive, which meant at any given time one of the parents could be on the road.

Ms. Syler shares her parenting experiences from birth (living with her parents and sister, Tracy), right up to this year when she had a double mastectomy.

Both of her parents had breast cancer and in Good- Enough Mother, Ms. Syler candidly discusses how she came to the decision to have the surgery.  She had the surgery a short time after she was informed by CBS that they were “going in another direction” without her.

In addition to telling her story in the book, Ms. Syler appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show last month and her journal appears in O Magazine.

You’ll laugh throughout Good-Enough Mother, as you identify with the lessons learned and shared.  You’ll recall your childhood and you can also take solace in Ms. Syler’s comforting words as she assures the reader, and herself, that everything is going to be okay.

Enjoy this ride with Ms. Syler as she talks about everything from Playdates and timeout to passing off store-bought baked goods as her own.

Learn from her experiences.

This award-winning journalist, member of the National Association of Black Journalists and former member of the Dallas-Fort Worth Association of Black Communicators, who shares a byline with Karen Moline will be signing her book:  April 13th at Barnes and Noble on Northwest Highway.
