When DeMarco’s prere- corded message is shared, he shocks, angers and intrigues those in the church.

Confessions of a Lonely Soul grapples with a subject many would care to ignore— HIV/AIDS in the Black community.

Some might feel that his secrets need to go to the grave with him, instead of dealing with such serious and emotional issues as suicide and murder. Did folks really want to know how he contracted HIV, and what good would it do to share that information once he’s gone?

DeMarco is full of jokes, and some people are not laughing. Go on this ride with DeMarco as he shakes up the lives of so many people, right to the very end. The skillful writing of Mr. Turley will leave you second- guessing and wanting more.

Mr. Turley says he wanted to touch on two “specific topics that we seem to ignore today.” He reveals that he has battled depression and he encourages readers to seek help from a trained professional. “Going to a psychiatrist doesn’t mean you are crazy,” he wrote.

The other topic is HIV and AIDS awareness. Mr. Turley said he gets tested at least once a year. “I’m happy to say that I’m HIV negative,” he declared. “But how would I have known my status if I never got tested?”
