The Reservationist is Barbra Porter Coleman's first foray into the world of publishing. A graduate of Dallas Baptist University and a member of the Writer's Block Incorporated, Ms. Coleman writes about the world she knows. As a reservationist for a major airline, the native Oklahoman spins a tale of suspense, murder and intrigue.
Ms. Coleman will turn the reader into a sleuth- suspecting one character after another of being the left-handed serial killer.
Men and women are the target. But who has a motive?
Clearly some of the characters have issues. The main characters are Nicole Salem, Sky Winters and Pebbles Stone; who also all happen to be reservationists for an airline.
Eventually, and before everyone else does, the reader will figure out who the culprit is. But the story is not over as Ms. Coleman keeps your interest as the killer continues to add to her list of victims.
The Reservationist has been on the Black Images Book Bazaar Bestseller List twice and there just has to be a sequel because Ms. Coleman didn't take four years to write the book and bring it to a nice-neat conclusion. No, that was too easy, she said as she laughed mysteriously during a recent interview.
"There is a sequel in the works," she said adding that she had a lot of motivation for the story. "I started out writing about September 11, then about my mother who was killed in an accident between a car and a train in Oklahoma City."
The story sort of took on a life of its own, which makes for an interesting read. The Reservationist ends with the serial killer receiving assistance from an unlikely ally. So the story continues-but will the killings continue? We'll have to wait and see. And if the sequel is anything like The Reservationist, it will also be topping the charts.
