In March 1990, Reporters Roundtable, a public affairs talk show featuring journalists, was introduced to Dallas-Fort Worth's KKDA-AM 730 listening audience, with news director Shaun Rabb as the host. The first panel, joining Shaun, included: then Dallas Examiner editor Charles O'Neal and Dallas Weekly editor Cheryl Smith. By late May, Shaun had accepted an anchor position at Fox 4 News and Cheryl became the host of Reporters Roundtable.
Wrapping up her 16th year as the host, Cheryl has
won numerous awards and interviewed several notables
including: Minister Louis Farrakhan, Tavis Smiley,
Dick Gregory, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL), Dionne
Warwick, Iyanla Vanzant, Chuck D, Sister Souljah,
Russell Simmons, Doug Williams, Former FAMU President
Frederick Humphries, the late Mamie Till Mobley
and Nikki Giovanni. Journalists include, Susan Taylor,
George E. Curry, Ralph Wiley, Ed Gordon, Dr. Julianne
Malveaux, Elmer Smith, Kevin Merida, Rhonda Guess,
James Muhammad and Art Fennell.
